Hatcher’s Run on Your Smartphone

Love them or loathe them, smartphones are today’s dominant tool. One the attractions of creating the Hatcher’s Run website containing an eBook:

was to provide smartphone easy access. I, and others, have found it very handy to read the text on our smartphones. However, some people have told me of their problems in accessing the PDFs on their phones, both Android and Apple. So, I would welcome feedback from group members regarding access, and hopefully I can fix any technical glitch.

In theory, it should require just three clicks to access the PDFs and I’ll demonstrate here what should happen.

When one first accesses the Battle of Hatcher’s Run website by smartphone, one should see a screen with three small horizontal lines in the top right corner. Touch the 3 lines and you will see a short menu.

If you touch “…apters” this will just take you to a “sections” contents information page with no further accessible pages.

If you touch the down arrow to the left of “…apters” you will get a menu listing all the eight sections.

If you click on any of the titles it will take you to a summary of that section - scroll to the bottom, you’ll see the PDF icons. Click on one and the relevant chapter will appear.

Thus, in three quick taps one should be reading any given chapter. This is how it should work.

Please let me know in the comments section if this is, or is not, your experience.

There seems to be fewer issues reported to me regarding access by computer or tablet. But if you have problems with these also then please drop a line in the comments.

Many thanks.
