Aftermath
As the guns fell silent along Hatcher’s Run, no further serious fighting occurred around Petersburg until late March. This section describes the events that unfolded in the days following the battle, both militarily, politically, and socially. I then describe the battle’s legacy. Usually portrayed as an inconsequential battle, this section explodes such thinking. I tell and debunk the narrative of the battle created by Unionists that has endured to modern times. Finally, as is customary, I have included a detailed Order of Battle.
